For healthy digestion, prebiotics and probiotics

YOGURTFeeding your gut correctly is the path to health. It might sound absurd, but that is exactly how it is: more than 70% of our immune responses pass through the gut, and this is precisely why it is important to nourish and protect it with a proper diet.

Prebiotics and probiotics play an irreplaceable role in this balance of the body and are elements that should never be missing from our nutritional intake.

When we talk about probiotics we usually refer to microorganisms that aid digestion and protect against harmful bacteria; the best known are those contained in yogurt, which are credited with beneficial properties ranging from improved brain function to better functioning of the colon.

When we talk about prebiotics, on the other hand, we are no longer referring to living microorganisms, but to those elements that probiotics feed on, so the beneficial effect of the prebiotic is essentially indirect.
These include wholemeal bread and flour, but also onions, garlic, chicory and bananas, honey and artichokes.
