The State promotes the sale of counterfeit Italian cured meats

COUNTERFEITINGThe president of Coldiretti, Sergio Marini, sounded the alarm about Italian food products abroad during the International Food Forum in Cernobbio: "The Italian State promotes foreign sales of Uruguayan bresaola, as well as finocchiella, Tuscan salami and culatello produced in the United States and sold in New York by the Rosi delicatessen of the Parmacotto Group, which has just signed an advantageous agreement providing for an investment of no less than 11 million euros in its share capital by Simest, a joint-stock company controlled by the Ministry of Economic Development with private participation".
"It is not politically acceptable for the State, which represents all Italian citizens, to directly or indirectly finance the production or distribution of food products that have nothing to do with the country's productive fabric but, on the contrary — Marini stresses — engage in unfair competition with the entrepreneurs working in livestock farming and production in Italy".

The president of Coldiretti also denounces the wall of silence put up by the State's financial company, which appeared reticent even after the complaint lodged by Coldiretti itself, a complaint that has landed on the table of a parliamentary commission of inquiry.
