Food and Pleasure, Taste on Display in Milan
Published on 10/2/2014
Taste is certainly the most mysterious of the 5 senses, one that in some way presupposes all the others, since a food is also touch, it is aromas and visual impact.
Until 12 March the Triennale di Milano hosts the exhibition promoted by the Golinelli Foundation, "Gola, arte e scienza del gusto" (Gluttony, art and science of taste), here is the link.
Through the interpretation of 13 artists, the aim of the exhibition is to guide the visitor into the world of nutrition, from the point of view of the "pleasure-nutrition" relationship.
The exhibition-experience unfolds through five environments that resemble an initiatory journey and a formation of taste: from the role of pleasure in the choice of food, to the psychological and neurological mechanisms of culinary preferences, to arrive at the "secrets of junk food", passing through the revelation of what lies behind the choice of what we eat every day. The journey closes on the "re-construction of taste", where the aim is to launch messages and suggestions for a diet better suited to the habits and customs of the people of the third millennium.
